NESDA organizes an informational day on Islamic banking.

As part of its efforts to diversify financing mechanisms for small enterprises, the National Agency for the Support and Development of Entrepreneurship (NESDA) organized an informational day on Islamic banking, under the high patronage of the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Small Enterprises, and in partnership with the Algerian Popular Bank (CPA). The event aimed to highlight alternative financing solutions that align with the nature and needs of project holders in Algeria.

The National Agency for Support and Development of Entrepreneurship (NESDA) organized an information day on Monday, March 17, 2025, regarding Islamic Finance titled: "Islamic Banking Financing Solutions for Micro-enterprise Owners." The event took place at the Agency's General Directorate headquarters in Algiers, in partnership with Crédit Populaire d’Algérie (CPA), and under the high patronage of the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Micro-enterprises. The organization of this meeting comes within the framework of implementing the Agency’s strategy aimed at expanding financing avenues for project holders by adopting alternative financing solutions that align with the nature of micro-enterprises and their specific needs. Islamic Banking is among the most important mechanisms currently adopted, given the financing formulas it provides that comply with the provisions of Islamic Sharia and suit the requirements of the target group. This information day represented an opportunity to introduce micro-enterprise owners to the various Islamic financing formulas available at CPA, explain the practical aspects of the contracts approved in this context, and highlight the advantages and facilities offered by this mechanism. It is viewed as a promising financing option that helps launch and develop projects without resorting to traditional interest-based mechanisms. The meeting featured an interactive discussion session between the General Manager of the Agency and representatives of CPA, in the presence of executives from both institutions, alongside project holders from various provinces. During the session, various questions and concerns regarding the procedures for benefiting from Islamic financing were addressed, providing comprehensive explanations of the conditions and objectives of this formula. This initiative is part of NESDA’s efforts to support micro-enterprises through all stages—from establishment to expansion—via flexible and secure financing solutions that enhance project success rates and contribute to sustainable local economic development. Through this activity, the Agency reaffirms its commitment to keeping pace with modern financial trends and opening the door for ambitious youth and entrepreneurs to benefit from innovative financial services that support their aspirations and consolidate the culture of entrepreneurship in Algeria.
