An international workshop on managing and measuring the social and environmental impact of enterprises in partnership with PNUD.

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and enhance the principles of sustainable development, the National Agency for the Support and Development of Entrepreneurship (NESDA), in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (PNUD), organized an international specialized training course on 'Managing and Measuring the Social and Environmental Impact of Enterprises' from July 7 to 9, 2025, in Algiers. The course aimed to empower small business owners with analytical and evaluation tools that have a developmental dimension.

The National Agency for Support and Development of Entrepreneurship (NESDA), in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), concluded the international training session on "Managing and Measuring the Social and Environmental Impact of Enterprises." Held from July 7 to 9, 2025, at the El Aurassi Hotel in Algiers, the event saw broad participation from micro-enterprise owners established under the Agency’s framework. Participants benefited from high-quality, intensive training led by two certified international experts: Ms. Nicoletta Ghisu, Project Manager at the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States, and Mr. Amry El Fakharany, a UNDP-certified trainer. The session focused on providing participants with advanced tools and methodologies to measure the social and environmental impact of their projects according to international standards. It also empowered them to integrate social and environmental dimensions into their economic activities to ensure business sustainability and enhance their ability to face economic and social challenges. The session witnessed positive interaction and great interest from participants, who praised the quality of the training and considered its content a qualitative addition to their expertise, expressing their readiness to apply what they learned on the ground. During the closing ceremony, the General Manager of the Agency emphasized the importance of such training in building the capacities of entrepreneurs and supporting them in achieving a balance between profitability and socio-environmental responsibility. He praised the strategic role of the partner, UNDP, in supporting the path of sustainable entrepreneurship. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continuing cooperation and joint action to promote the green economy and support micro-enterprises in facing current challenges, thereby contributing to sustainable development at both national and regional levels.
